The one on Christmas Eve 2012

First I apologize for not blogging the past week...we moved in between Christmas and New Year's so we have been trying to get settled...but more about that in another post :)

So with Christmas drawing near it was a little tough to get in the holiday spirit due to the fact that it is summer here.  That means temperatures were at almost 100 (or 40 Celsius) the week of Christmas, but we had a wonderful Christmas anyways :)

Christmas Eve, Jaret and I helped Rob prepare the turkey.  The plan was to smoke it, but it had to sit in a brine (sp?) for a day.
Here is the brine...

And here is our beautiful turkey...

We had a couple of last minute errands to run and then relaxed before it was time for a Christmas Eve party at Kim & Wes's (Wes is one of Jaret's co-workers).  There was a lot of food and great company!

The last thing of the night was to make cookies for Santa.  Jaret and I jumped right in to help the kids do some baking.

Our adorable baking assistants...Anabelle & Evan!

While the cookies were in the oven... the kids started watching a movie and settling down so they could go to sleep and wait for the big guy in red.

We had a great time at the party and it was awesome for Kim & Wes to open their home to us.  But now it was time to go to sleep and see what Santa was going to bring!
